Sometimes we are baffled at how the Universe connects us with the exact right people at the exact right times. Just as we were re-launching our wedding duo business last fall, I was connected with Katie via another business venture I was running at the time. I then found out that she was engaged, and we naturally starting talking about photography, very casually at first, before I even learned that she was actually engaged to a former student of mine who is cousins with other former students of mine!
Needless-to-say, Scott and I clicked with Katie and Cody from the moment we met them for drinks at our favorite restaurant in downtown Nashua, Stella Blu. It was there that we learned about how Cody proposed with their beautiful pup, Flora on Christmas morning, surrounded by family and the infectious spirit and joy of the holiday. And we were thrilled to hear that they are getting married at New Hampshire’s popular and beautiful Dell- Lea’s Wedding & Events venue next summer.
When it came time to schedule the engagement shoot, we chatted about a few local options that would allow for a country and rustic feel, but then I mentioned Bancroft’s Castle as one of my all-time favorite venues at sunset, and they were sold! And boy, the sunset did NOT disappoint this night!
Despite the temperature reaching an all-time high (real feel was well over 100 degrees!), we all decided that this locale would be worth risking the heat and sweat, and we are so glad we did!
We were sure to remain in the shade of the castle ruins just long enough to avoid direct sun, and then we played in the orange glow to finish off the night. As a reward for our adventure, we all indulged in freeze pops as we descended the hill back to our cars.
We are SO looking forward to this wedding next summer, but for now, we’ll keep reminiscing on this golden sunset session.
