First, I must be honest and share that Nicole and I have known each other for a few years now. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of capturing many important events in Sirrina’s (her older sister’s) life, and I have Sirrina and her husband, John, to thank for starting my career in the wedding photography industry four years ago!
So when Scott and I sat down with Gil and Nicole to discuss their wedding plans after Nicole reached out, Gil joked, “Is there anything in this family’s life that you haven’t documented?”
All jokes aside, after meeting with these two people at Riverwalk Cafe in Nashua (one of our favorite spots to meet with couples for a hot cup of coffee or glass of wine) who could not be more perfect for each other, we left completely in love with everything about their wedding plans!
Nicole is incredibly crafty, and much of the wedding details would have her touch as well as that of her mother’s and those close to her. Nicole created the beautiful sunflower adorned bouquets and boutonnieres while Lynn Sullivan and Nicole’s mother, Terri Leduc crafted the sunflower seed and homemade jam wedding favors. And Nicole’s sister helped with makeup while Gil’s aunts and uncles catered the best authentic Mexican cuisine we have ever tasted.
Seriously, Scott and I will never be able to make tacos again because they will not even come close to comparing to what we ate on Saturday evening! We sure hope it’s not a secret family recipe!!!
And can we talk about how stunning everyone in the wedding party looked (including the wedding couple, of course)!? Nicole’s dress from David’s Bridal fit her and her personality perfectly – classic, elegant and adorned with a touch of sparkle. The groom and groomsmen’s suits from Men’s Warehouse perfectly balanced the rich- colored Azazie Giana bridesmaids dresses (that had pockets, hello?!), and all of the looks were accented perfectly with Nicole’s sunflower creations.
The personalization did not stop there, though! Pastor Larry Hileman of Heritage Baptist Church of Nashua shared words of wisdom particularly pertinent to Nicole and Gil’s relationship and engagement (more of which you can read about in their engagement blog post here!). And at the reception, the beautiful country decor supplied by a dear friend, Carmen and stunning cake by Nicole’s chef from school, Allison Rheaume in addition to gourmet desserts transformed the Brookline Event Center into a NH rustic wedding dream.
The guests, and let’s be honest, WE danced all night long to a combination of DJ Ryan’s tunes and live music performed by Grupo Fenix from NY. The festivities concluded with the traditional dollar dance and then the grand sparkler exit as the storms cleared just in time for the celebration outdoors!
Nicole and Gil, we could never express how grateful we are to have been part of such a momentous occasion in your lives. We thoroughly enjoyed being witnesses to your incredible love story, and we wish you many, many years of love and laughter to come! Congratulations!!
And now, their love story. Enjoy!
Instead of a First Look, Gil + Nicole chose to do a prayer photo before their ceremony without seeing each other. It was a truly special and intimate moment!
Grupo Fenix and DJ Ryan!!!
